PostSubject: Anchor Sight   Anchor Sight EmptySat Dec 17, 2011 3:00 pm

I just ordered an Anchor Sight from Lynn at Archery Innovations. He has some blems for sale so I got an aluminum one for the same price as the plastic one. He also has camo blems for the same prices as the aluminum ones. Contact him via email if you wanna save 20 bucks on one of these sights.

That is awesome NevadaDave thank you for the info on the blems. I sure hope he is running that special when I finally have my money saved to get mine. Let me know how long it takes to ship and how it is packaged. Please also give a Review here if you like. I will try to add a review forum to this site as well. I hear that Lynn is a great guy and is very easy to work with.

Do you have an Idea of how you want it mounted yet? I was thinking of mounting mine below my sight front side of the riser. So that way I can later mount the Leupold Vendetta range finder which sits on the back side of the riser and looks over the top of the sight. Check it out here

Thanks for the info once again. Now I am antsy and can't wait to get the cash so I can mine. LOL

Whenever you are ready to get one just shoot Lynn an email. I don't think he has the blems advertised on his site, other than to mention he has a few of the camo ones that are blems. He didn't mention the black anodized ones on his site. The issue with these is some adhesive got onto the housing around the lens. He said it wouldn't show up in a picture but if you look at them close you can see imperfection in the adhesive's application. I plan on painting my own camo on it anyway.

Thanks I will have to keep that in mind when I am ready. Thanks for the 411. Sounds like a good deal. When you get is give me a holler and let me know if the discount is worth it. Wink

It sounds like it will not effect the use of the device so it should be a good deal.

He told me that it was purely cosmetic, and that it was difficult to see. He said it wouldn't show up in a photograph.

I think I would like to see one in real life. Maybe shoot with it too. It looks big and ugly, but I guess if it works that's all that really matters.

There is a bowsight that has this type of product built into it, the IQ Bowsight they call it retina lock check them out here IQ Bowsight with Retina Lock

It is essentially the same type of idea built into the sight itself. I happen to really like the sight I have and I am opting for the Anchor sight.

I see there is a good point in a anchor og IQ sight, and I know how many problems a peep can make, it turns and is bad i low lights, but IF the " none peep " sight is so much better, why is so few using them Surprised

I never used it myself, but I think a lot about give it a try, but here in Denmark I dont know anyone who shot a compound bow without a peep sight Wink

Ok, so I got the Anchor Sight, and for the life of me I couldn't find the blem! I got an anodized aluminum one for the price of the ABS plastic one.

Hey looks great I like the price of your sight WOW did you find it on ebay??

I think the anchor sight looks good in that configuration I just hope you don't have to bring the sight housing down any further while you are sighting it in. You may have to mount it above. I like it below the sight too.

I just have to wait a little while longer for mine some time after the new year and I should be ready to get something worked out.

When does the rest and arrows get there? Have you decided on a target yet?

It is coming together nicely.

Anchor Sight Empty
PostSubject: Re: Anchor Sight   Anchor Sight EmptyMon Jan 02, 2012 8:46 pm

I got the sight at a local sporting goods store owned by a family who has monopolies on sporting goods, lumber yard, and pharmacy here in our town. They overcharge for most things they sell, because they can get away with it. Someone mis-marked the sight. It said "$42" instead of "$142" and on top of that - there was a sale on sights that day, so I got 20% off the $42! The cashier had no clue at all and charged me 33 bucks and change. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

My rest and arrows will be here later in the week. I got a Revolution off Amazon for $39 bucks new, shipped, and a dozen XT Hunters. I ordered the FOBs last night. As for targets - not sure yet - I'm leaning heavily toward a home-made one like the man in Denmark made from carpet and foam. But I'm going to make mine a simple square and have layers of carpet and foam to form about an 8" thick target area. I saw another design somewhere that had pieces of carpet sandwiched together flat-wise so the arrow entered the edges of the carpet. He had pieces cut that were about two feet tall, six or eight inches thick (deep) and enough of those pieces to make it two feet wide. That also looks promising.

ANCHOR SIGHT UPDATE
So I found one thing that is irritating about the Anchor Sight, and I will take it up with Lynn to see what he says about it. There is a micro-adjust screw for both vertical and horizontal adjustments. The one that adjusts the horizontal is underneath the bracket when the sight is mounted. I need to bring the cross-hairs in toward the riser to suit my anchor point. So, in order to tweak the side-to-side aiming of the sight you have to take it off the bracket to do it. It is a huge pain in the \"Bleep\". Either that or I am a complete moron and have no idea how to look at this dilemma.

How do you have it installed? Duh never mind the last ? I remember the pic. Is there room to drill?

Please let me know what he says. Thanks for the update.

Yeah, always nice when you get something at "reasonable" prices, other than the inflated prices....

Dave, with regards to your horizontal adjustments, it looks like in the first picture you posted that there could be enough room for a wrench in ther IF you trimmed the wrench? I'm assuming that its adjusted by an allen wrench, could you not cutoff some of the allen wrench to fit in the space? Just wondering....

Anchor Sight Empty
PostSubject: Re: Anchor Sight   Anchor Sight EmptyTue Jan 03, 2012 12:17 pm

Lynn told me that I had the sight too far forward on my riser - far enough so that the pin sight's frame blocks the anchor sights Micro-adjustment for the horizontal. He is correct, and suggested that I move it back or use a different mounting position. I like the place it's in now, so I simply removed the sight from it's bracket, made an adjustment, re-installed it on it's bracket, and POOF! I nailed it. It is in the perfect spot for me. In theory, I shouldn't have to do any more adjustment. I don't want to drill anything. There wasn't room for the allen wrench, even if I trimmed it. The screw is not accessible, no matter what. No problem though. cheers

While we're on the subject of sights, I could never see myself using a peep. My anchor point will not allow me to see through one, so this Anchor Sight is the perfect device for me.

I am glad there was a logical fix and glad that you resolved it and when I get mine it be easier for me to trouble shoot, thanks for the footwork.

I am hoping to have that same experience. That I will never need another peep as long as I live.
