A very cool Christmas Event Empty
PostSubject: A very cool Christmas Event   A very cool Christmas Event EmptySun Dec 25, 2011 1:54 pm

Let me premise this story by saying that we live in a very tiny, very rural place. There is only one veterinarian (well, two, but the other one is not that good).

Ok, so we go to lunch yesterday, and the Chinese place we wanted to eat at was closed. So we headed across town to another place that has a restaurant that won't kill you, and when we were driving out of the parking lot after we ate, I decide to go a different way than we ever did before. There are two exits from the lot and we've never been around the back so we decided to take that one. What do we see? A little puppy chocolate lab all skinny and shivering. We stop to see if he has a collar and there wasn't one, but we saw that he has a huge boil-like abscess under his chin, and the left half of his face was swollen badly. He had blood and pus all dried all over his little chest, and he was near death. Immediately upon stopping I opened the door to the car and he tried jumping in. My wife got out of the car and ran around to the driver side and grabbed him and we sped off to the vet. She was Christmas shopping, but after a few frantic phone calls we got hold of her and she met us back at her office. In the mean time we had taken new puppy home and gave him a bath to clean him up. He cried and cried after the bath, and he pounded a little pack of wet dog food and about a quart of water. We then headed out to the vet's office. The vet gave him a couple shots - one for pain and one antibiotic. That helped a great deal and by the evening he was looking pretty good, considering all he's been through. He'd been outside for about a week or so, judging by the amount of pus and so forth that was on him, the size of the abscess. The doc said that takes a week to form to that size. Folks - it was 12 below zero for the past three nights! This poor little dude was out in that.

We saw that he had been bitten badly on the side of his face on the lower jaw. He has wounds inside his mouth as well through his little lip in the corner of his mouth. He could barely open his mouth. He's lucky to be alive.

We named him Rudy, because it's Christmas time and he has a little pink nose like Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer. Stella, our black lab puppy, loves him as much as we do.

Good thing the Chinese place was closed. Good thing I decided to leave the parking lot a different way after five years of going out the other exit.

We love little Rudy and are going to make him a part of our pack.

Merry Christmas from Rudy, Stella, Dave and Monica, and our other two dogs Sammy and Lucy!!

WOW Merry Christmas to you and Rudy Congrats Rudy on your new pack and position in life. Live well pup.

Thank you Dave and to your wife as well for seeing this poor defenseless pup and taking care of him, it will come back to you 10 fold. Now as for that restaurant being closed, I attribute that to divine intervention. Our Father used you to save that pup.

This is a great Christmas Miracle story thanks for sharing it with us you have a kind heart and a gentle soul. (even if you do have a rough exterior). LOL

Our Almighty Father definitely has ways of making us do things that we just feel are right and when he puts it on our hearts to do it we then see the true power our Father poses over us.

Too many people are looking so hard for miracles, that they never see them. If we just open our eyes and let it happen we can see miracles that they happen right before our eyes everyday. Thank you and your wife for living with your eyes open to these miracles.

That is one beautiful Chocolate Lab pup you are so lucky to receive such a gift and as is he.

Will
