Subject: Hoyt CRX and Ripcord arrow rest Tue Aug 30, 2011 12:07 am
ok guys i just bought this new set up this year and got my fobs in today. right off the bat i noticed im going to have to do some adjusting. the arrow shelf on my CRX is kind of at a curve and wasnt allowing my rest to go all the way down. i think im going to have to move my rest up to allow it to lay flat for the FOB clearance. i was just wondering if anybody has shot FOB's with this set up this year. im going to the bow shop tm to get it all lined out and hopefully it works because i really want to shoot these bad boys.
thanks

I shoot a Hoyt Vextrec with the ripcord and it works great....When you get the rest adjusted you will love it. If you need help with anything just ask.

Well I went to the bow shop pumped to get my boe set up for fobs. Had him make sure the arrow and string was square. Put an arrow on with the tester and everything cleared at least a 16th between the rest. In all spots. Shot it to check it out ... Crack fob popped off and flew around . Did it 3 times . Odd thing is its not even hitting on forks. It's hitting back on the flat part of my ripcord. It peeled up red rubber from it ... I was so pumped and thought with my rest type i was gtg ... I need help

where is your cord attached to your cable? attach it even with the base of your grip, longer cord will have less tension on it and should help drop quicker, and have the rest come up fully in the last 5/8 or so of draw

i went over my rest and its timed properly, falling fine. at this point im clueless. my bow guy never messed with fobs he has no clue what the prob is. i just annoyed because i really wanted to use my forbs. i ended up fletching 6 arrows so i could actually shoot my bow and start sighting it in but im not giving up on fobs. just not sure what to do next...
