This is a great technical question that Paul can answer for you better than I can, but being someone who uses FOBs, I can tell you a few of the pros and cons...first you will need a drop away rest with plenty of clearance
Pros *tighter groups *better downrange accuracy *less wind resistance (especially in crosswinds- 75% less than blazers) *after you hit an animal the FOB pops off marking the last place that the animal stood (where to start trailing) *you can "fletch" 12 arrows in seconds *they are rigid, won't tear and even if broken will fly true
Cons *no more group shooting, you'll get tired of hitting your own arrows and breaking them due to FOBin hoods *you will get a LOT of looks, questions, and very interested people the next time you go to the range *you will become hopelessly addicted to them lol

Long story short, you can pretty much destroy a FOB and still shoot 100% with it. I would be lying if i told you everytime i went to a 3D shoot i always used brand new FOBS....If there on my shatfs ans still in one peice then im using them! Awesome product.
