So I got my tube of FOBs and could not wait to get out back and see how these babies fly.
My first impression was they were too loose on the shafts. Not what I expected. The nock is what holds the FOB tight and straight given you have a square shaft end to start with. Seems if I had a wrap on the shaft it would be a little tighter? May impede the FOB releasing and coming off as designed however?
The FOBs shot as advertised straight away. Like darts at 30 yards they flew right where I pointed them. But after a few shots I had a wild flyer to the left. Soon after another. Turns out the FOB sits way back on the arrow and may contact your cheek or lip on the way out upon release. I had to modify my hold and anchor to shoot the FOB without making contact. My comfortable anchor position is out of the question with the FOBs. Now I can shoot em well the way I need to. Just not a locked in comfortable anchor point. If the FOBs could be a little forward on the arrow so as to provide clearance at full draw, this would be an improvement IMHO.
I lost an arrow from one of these wild left shots. Found the FOB under the tree but the arrow is pushing up Miss Daisey somewhere beyond. I will keep shooting 2 Blazers and 2 FOBs for the next couple weeks and see how I feel after better used to the different arrows. I will be a better shot after the repetitions and will then move on to broadheads to see how the FOBs do for me and my cutters.
