The old saying is "The worst day hunting beats the Best day at Work!"

So tell us of your worst day hunting or your best day at work or both.

OK so any worst day hunting is when you have spent your entire day in a blind or stand and get nothing. But my worst day hunting was a time when my friend took me hunting in the Los Angeles National Forest.

I took aim at a big buck I saw him and figured he was about 600 yds or so out and waited till he came within like 400 yds and sighted a little over his back due to the rilfe scope was broken and had to guess. I pulled the trigger on the old 30/30 and the round hits way above his back. So I check and lower the scope and still too high so I think this is impossible so finally I aim right at the shoulder and down he goes and pops right back up, so we make our way down the hill to look for him and finally find him crashed in a thicket, But I could not believe my eyes it looked like a dog with antlers large antlers but the whole deer fit in my pack antlers sticking out the top.

His size made me think he was farther than I thought. ouch

Ouch is right! Imagine having to waste your buck tag on a spike, though, because he came in early enough and your scope is crappy enough in the pre-dawn 30minute window that you think he is a "she." 2" spikes made it a legal buck, so I couldn't use my antlerless tag on it. And there was a big 10-pointer in the area.

My worst day hunting, though was when I spent the afternoon in a tree stand 25' up a blue spruce with 20degree weather and 35mph Kansas winds. There wasn't a single thing moving, not even the squirrels. I wasn't smart enough to stay inside, but the deer were!

Oh brother I feel your pain on sooo many levels. The scope knobs where some how stuck I mean galled and we could not move them and the dork at last sighted it in at 50yds. uuuuuuhhhhhh.

Nothing hurts worse than becoming a human Popsicle and going home empty handed felling like you are the only beast in the out of doors. haha
